THE TASK
I created an advertisement for an existing brand that follows its brand guidelines while showing a new style and angle. A tagline was required. I chose Owala, the popular water bottle brand and inventor of the FreeSip (sip + pour) lid.
THE CONCEPT
Everyone who owns one knows it's not about the bottle; it's about how you make the Owala your own. After a while, each bottle ends up looking like its owner!
To capture Owala's versatility, I decided to make a piece as a play on AI's "ability" to create (almost) anything. I collected the Owala bottles of my colleagues; Julie Morris, Vin Chaundry, Lyle Lewis, and Liz Carro and...myself. No AI was used in the making of this piece, but Photoshop was used to do things like add repetition, extra fingers, and other things seen in lesser-quality AI art.
